Ruth Mitchell

     Ruth (Smith) Mitchell, age 101 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Pickett Care and Rehab.

     She was born June 5, 1922 in the Bethsaida Community to Roscoe 'Ross' Smith and Dora (Lacy) Smith. She was a member of Bolestown Christian Church.

     Ruth enjoyed her flower gardens, reading and studying the Bible. She was a bookkeeper and real estate broker and worked with her husband: Col. Willard C. Mitchell Real Estate & Auction Service for over 30 years in Byrdstown. 

     She was survived by daughter: Linda Adams; sons: Wendell Mitchell, Kendell Mitchell and wife: Marietta Reagan; (6) grandchildren, (7) great-grandchildren and (1) great-great-grandchild. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Ross and Dora Smith; husband: Willard Mitchell; son-in-law: Dr. Myron John 'Mike' Adams III.

     Ruth requested a graveside service at Smyrna Cemetery. The services were held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Smyrna Cemetery with Bro. Eric Thoman officiating. The burial was in Smyrna Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers were Joey Mitchell, Mike Mitchell, Sam Mitchell, John Adams, Joey Fox Mitchell and Wendell Mitchell.
