Janice Marie (Gilbert) Taylor

     Janice Marie (Gilbert) Taylor, age 71 of Monroe, TN passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. 

     She was born May 28, 1952 in Anderson, IN to Joe Reed Gilbert and Virginia Marie (Leonard) Gilbert. She was a member of Chesterfield Freewill Baptist Church in Chesterfield, IN and presently attended Pleasant Ridge Church. She was a former factory employee at General Motors, a homemaker and mother. Janice loved the Lord, her family, football and enjoyed life. 

     Janice was survived by her husband: Thomas 'Doug' Taylor; (1) son: T.J. Taylor and wife: Amy; (6) grandchildren: Andrew Cameron and wife: Ami, Lexi Taylor, Eli Taylor, Emma Cameron, Lincoln Taylor and Lucas Taylor; mother: Virginia Gilbert; (2) sisters: Johanna Brancheau and Sherry Lane; (2) brothers: Cameron Gilbert and Bill Gilbert. Also survived by other family members and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her father: Joe Reed Gilbert; (1) daughter: Joni Marie Cameron.; maternal grandparents: Eustayce and Goldie Leonard 

     Funeral services were held Monday, March 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Cameron Gilbert, Bro. Brett Gibbons and Bro. James Forlines officiating. The burial was in Taylor Homestead Cemetery.

     Family members served as pallbearers. 

     Special thanks to Dr. James Tompkins and staff, Centennial Hospital, Roe Rehab, Quality Home Health and Vanderbilt Neurology ICU.

     The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 AM until service at 1:00 PM.
