Bobby "Bob" Mullins Obituary

      Bobby Harold Mullins "Bob", age 91 of Lovelady Road in Byrdstown, TN, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

       He was born March 18, 1930 in Byrdstown,TN to Ernest Roscoe and Mary Estelle (Parris) Mullins.

      Bob was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Byrdstown, veteran of the Korean War, former owner of Mullins Lumber Co., charter member and chairman of Calvary Bible Church Deacon Board, board member of Peoples Bank and Trust, past Republican party treasurer, past board member at Appalachian Bible College, an active Gideon, jail ministry and speaker, Vice President of King of Kings Christian Radio, grocery store owner, served as chaplain of the Byrdstown Fire Department, chaplain of the DAV, avid baseball fan and loved the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis  Cardinals, loved the Dixie Music jams on Friday nights.

      He is survived by (1) Daughter: Joy Shewmake and Huband: Jackie; (1) Son: John Harold Mullins and Wife: Cathy; (1) Sister: Kay Elder; (1) Brother: Forrest Mullins; (3) Grandchildren: Lori McClain (Shawn), Jessica Walpole (William), Larae Richter (Rik); (6) Great Grandchildren: Valley, Mallori, Boone, Scarlett, Cole and Elise; Special Friend: Faye Hill. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

       Bob was preceded in death by his Parents: Ernest and Estelle Mullins; Wife of 62 Years: Dimple Valley (Moody) Mullins; Stillborn Daughter: Martha Ann Mullins.

        Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from the First Baptist Church in Byrdstown with with Dr. Bill Taylor and Bro. Jeff Amonett officiating. Burial will be in the Beaty Cemetery.

        The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until time of the service at 2:00 P.M.

         Memorial contributions in memory of Bob Mullins can be made to the Appalachian Bible College or First Baptist Church of Byrdstown.

          Due to the COVID-19 virus the family has asked everyone to wear a mask and keep social distancing.
