Herman "Peanut" Leston Cross

     Herman Leston "Peanut" Cross age 84 of Jones Chapel Rd. in Byrdstown, TN passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

     He was born February 2, 1932 in Pickett Co., TN to Porter Thomas Cross and Effie (Brannum) Cross. He was a member of the Wolf River United Baptist Church and a Contractor-Carpenter. 

     Peanut is survived by his Wife: Betty (Tompkins) Cross ; (5) Sons: Danny Cross (Sandy) , Ricky Cross (Brenda) , Rob Cross (Debbie) , Michael Cross , Tony Cross (Shelly) ; (2) Sisters: Allene Crouch (Wendell) and Geraldine Oliver ; (1) Brother: Jim Cross (Ruth Ann) ; (13) Grandchildren: Bradley Cross (Rachel), Jacob Cross (Jessie), Kim Patton (Danny), Angie Robbins (Derrick), Rebekah Masiongale (Brandon), Brent Cross (Carol), Tracey Williams (Marcus), Ben Cross, Eli Cross, Ally Cross, Isaac Cross, Silas Cross and Abby Cross ; (15) Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Trevor, Trey, K.T., Kyle, Kelsey, Colton, Cooper, Connor, Miley, Levi, Jayce, Joni, Miles, and Chance. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his Parents: Porter and Effie Cross ; (1) Sister: Clyo Cross ; Infant Twin Brothers. 

     Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from the Wolf River United Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Cross, Bro. Marcus Williams and Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cross Cemetery. 

* The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  and Thursday morning at the Wolf River United Baptist Church *
