Willie Wilson

     Willie Earl Wilson, age 79 of Cookeville, TN, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Celina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

     He was born October 23, 1946 in Rickman, TN to John Ed Wilson and Mary Alice (Presley) Wilson. Willie was a member of the Shipley Unity Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

     He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Mary Wilson; (2) brothers: James and Fred Wilson; (2) sisters: Edith Allen and Rosie Murray.

     Willie was survived by (1) daughter: Shiela Hammock and husband Jeff; (1) son: Nathan Wilson; (1) brother: Donald Wilson; (3) grandchildren: Kelly Wright, Jordan Wright, and Chelsea Moore; (7) great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Trenton, Clayton, Braylin, Cameron, Grayson, and Zayden; step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

      Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. George Storie officiating. The burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Hull-York Chapter 5 DAV and Overton County Honor Guard.

     Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Wright, Jeff Hammock, Cole Ross, Caleb Vimuktanon, Clayton Wright and Michelle Wright. 

      Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M.
