It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Mulder Scott, age 79, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 23, 2026. Shirley was a devoted follower of Christ and His Word whose faith guided every part of her life. She lived with kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and all who knew her. A faithful wife, loving mother, cherished grandma and proud great-grandma, she created a legacy of faith, strength, and grace that will continue through her family. Shirley was born on October 22, 1946 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan to John and Clara Mulder. She married her high school sweetheart, Don, on December 1, 1967. Together Don and Shirley had three children, Russel, Sheila, and Seth. They raised their family in South Florida and then moved to Tennessee. Shirley dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a nurse. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Donald Scott; her children Sheila (Scott) Geist, Seth (Kim) Scott; daughter-in-law Betsy Scott, grandchildren Isaac (Brianna), William, Luke (Audrey), Eli, Salena, Cheyenne, John, Jordan, Joshua, and Carissa, 5 great-grandchildren; her 2 sisters Kary and Sandie and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving son, Russel James Scott, and brother Douglas Mulder. Though our hearts are saddened we rejoice in knowing that she is with her Savior in heaven. Her life was a beautiful example of Christian faith, selfless love, and servant-hearted care. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 30, at Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at noon followed by a service at 3 pm. Pastor Bill Taylor will be officiating. Grave Side interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Livingston. Pall bearers will be her 7 grandsons.
