Nell Dena (Beaty) Appleby

     Nell Dena (Beaty) Appleby, age 71 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

     She was born June 12, 1954 in Byrdstown, TN to Glad Beaty and Katie Mae (Flowers) Beaty. She attended Upward Church and was a former secretary. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Glad and Mae Beaty; (1) son: Michael Appleby; (2) sisters: Leta Dyer and Barbara Bilbrey; (2) brothers: Lonnie Beaty and Kay Beaty. 

     Nell was survived by (1) grandchild: Zack Appleby; (1) great-grandchild: Luna Jo Appleby; (2) sisters: Carolyn Cope and Deborah Stockton; (1) brother: Ernie Beaty. Also survived by other family members and friends.  

     Funeral services were held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dale Cox and Bro. Robert Ridgeway officiating. The burial was in Story Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers were Zack Appleby, Zack Hickey, Lonnie Beaty,Tyler Byers, Buster Harmon, Stacy Cash, and Anthony Beaty.

     The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until the service at 2:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
