Lana Rossi Obituary

Lana Baker Rossi departed peacefully from this earth on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Livingston Regional Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Lana was the first of 6 children born to Francis E. and Jessie Wells Baker on February 26, 1945 in Nashville, TN prior to the end of WW2. The Bakers moved to and resided in Vermont for 12 years then the family relocated to Byrdstown, TN where they claimed the Lovelady Community as their “forever home.”

Lana was an avid reader and seeker of knowledge from an early age; however, it was not uncommon to find Lana out deer hunting or fishing with her father at any time.

Lana was a 1963 graduate of Pickett County High School, she then attended George Peabody College in Nashville where she excelled and earned a degree in Biology, she worked a few years at a hospital where she met her first husband, Mario Kay a native of Athens Greece, they had one son Philip Kay. Lana worked in the publishing industry in Nashville where she developed a talent in Graphic Design which later inspired her to open her own business, Lovelady Graphics, here in Byrdstown.

Lana will be fondly remembered for her love of knowledge, nature / wildlife, fine cuisine, playing Bridge, participating in and leading community planning, mentoring other women, and most of all spending time with family; her smile and laughter lit up a room and made anyone feel comfortable in her presence.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Jessie Baker; two sisters, Mary Lynne Baker and Norma Baker; her first husband Mario Kay; her second husband Ed Rossi, and many other special family members in Tennessee and Vermont.

Lana leaves behind, her son Philip (Jin) Kay of Las Vegas NV; two brothers, Francis C. Baker of Monterey, TN; Robert (Susan) Baker of Gallatin, TN; a sister, Rebecca Baker of Cookeville, TN; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lana and the family chose cremation, the family will announce a Memorial Service for Lana at a later date. Lana will be missed by many.
