Jennie Ruth (Crouch) Groce

Jennie Ruth (Crouch) Groce, age 87 of Moodyville Road in Byrdstown, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville, TN. She was born on February 13, 1933 in Byrdstown, TN. She was a member of Moodyville Missionary Baptist Church, a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, and a past member of the Byrdstown Lions Club. Prior to Herb retiring Jennie was an active volunteer at the V.A. hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Jennie is survived by son - Herbert T. Groce; granddaughter - Nicole Ziegler; great grandchildren – Rowan, Roslyn and Knox Ziegler. She is survived by nieces, nephews and other family & friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Jason and Velma (Raines) Crouch; husband – Herbert Q Groce; daughter – Mary Elizabeth Groce; sister – Leeta West; brother – Coleman Crouch.

Graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Lovelady-Sims Cemetery with Bro. Joel Chappell Sr. officiating. There will be no visitation – family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the TN Baptist Children’s Home and may be left at Brown Funeral Chapel.
