Jeanne F. Cammett Henckel was born to George E. and Frances M. (Homan) Cammett in Beverly MA on September 28, 1946. She completed her journey to redemption on Monday, March 24, 2025, having departed peacefully from her earthly home. She resided in Beverly MA and Covington KY as a child with her parents and siblings William Cammett of Washington IN, Patricia Cammett of Michigan City IN, Steven Cammett of Villa Rica GA, Susan (Kevin) Prybylla of Michigan City IN, Linda (Randy) Hughes of Pickerington OH, and Laurie (Steve) Hough of LaPorte, IN eventually settling in Long Beach IN, where she attended both elementary and secondary schools, graduating from Isaac C Elston High School in 1964.
Directly after high school, Jeanne attended Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, IL for one semester, then returned to Michigan City IN, where she met the love of her life, James L Henckel. They were married August 28, 1965 at First Christian Church in Michigan City. From this union they had four children, Terri Kay (Michael) Griffin of Michigan City IN, Pamela S. (Shawn) Hunter of Joplin MO, Chuck (Kellie) Henckel of Westville IN, and Melissa J. Henckel of Livingston TN. She was employed as a law enforcement officer/dispatcher at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and an active member of First Christian Church in Michigan City.
In May of 1983, Jeanne and Jim relocated their family of six to Joplin MO to attend Ozark Bible College. While attending college, she also worked at the local Social Security office and completed studies in Biblical Literature and missionary computer technology. During their tenure at Ozark, Jim and Jeanne ministered at Hepler Christian Church in Hepler KS and were ordained to Christian ministry in 1986 by the elders of First Christian Church in Michigan City IN. After graduating in May, 1988, they returned to Michigan City, where Jeanne worked at Social Security while they completed preparations for going to the mission field.
In January 1990, the couple departed for ministry in Buckie Scotland, where they served for four years. Jeanne also worked as housekeeper to a member of the royal family during this time to help sustain their mission financially. At the end of their mission term, they returned to the U.S. due to health challenges and settled in Byrdstown TN, where they ministered to a number of small area churches until Jim’s death in March of 2006. Later that year, Jeanne moved back to Michigan City to be close to family, attending Countryside Christian Church. In October 2009 she married Norman Losiniecki, whom she considered her kinsman redeemer; together, they served as Bible leaders at Michigan City Christian Church and were active in the ministry to senior citizens. When Jeanne married Norman, she chose his children as her own: Robert Losiniecki of LaPorte IN, Michelle (Barry) Miller of Three Oaks MI, Maureen (Todd) Franklin of Utica NY, David (Martha) Losiniecki of Valparaiso IN, Christine (Greg) Sundburg of Machesney Park IL. Norman passed into eternity in February 2021.
After his death, Jeanne moved to Livingston TN, where she was residing at the time of her death. Prior to her departure from this life, she spent her days sharing the Lord with her friends at the Overton County Senior Center, enjoyed the distinct honor of “holding court as the jester,” and spent precious time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jim and Norman, two sisters, Carol Ann Cammett and Joyce E. Losiniecki, a nephew Anthony DiGiacomo, son-in-law Todd Gasaway, sister-in-law Barbara Cammett, brothers-in-law Jimmy D. Collins and Lee Meyer, chosen children Jennifer Losiniecki Brown, daughter-in-law Gertrude Losiniecki, chosen grandchildren Ethan Franklin and Timothy Losiniecki.
She is survived by her four children, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitors will be received at Monroe Christian Church, Monroe TN from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025 with service to follow immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, Jeanne’s wishes were for people to bless someone in need financially or by deed of kindness, memorial contributions can be made to Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in being able to be present and be with loved ones at this time or memorial gifts can be made to: Monroe Christian Church Youth Group TCTC Fund or https://wondherful.com/support, a group committed to suicide prevention and mental health awareness “because one more suicide is one too many.”
