James Kennith Melton

     James Kennith Melton, age 66 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at his residence.

     He was born November 10, 1958 in Glasgow, KY to Mayford Melton and Leona (Groce) Melton. He was the owner and automotive mechanic at James' Byrdstown Service Center.

     James was survived by his wife: Sandy (Neal) Melton; (2) daughters: Jessica Reeder and husband: Justin, Elizabeth Huddleston and husband: Shane; (1) son: David Melton; (7) grandchildren: Noah and Kevin Reeder; Lily and Nora Huddleston; Bayla, Campbell and Cannon Melton; (1) sister: Judy Radford; (1) brother: Thomas Melton; beloved dog: Ollie. Also survived by other family members and friends. 

      He was preceded in death by his parents: Mayford and Leona Melton; (2) brothers: Odell Melton and Roger Melton; (1) sister: Frances Purvis.  

      Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross officiating. The burial was in Smyrna Cemetery.

      Serving as pallbearers were David Stearns, Kevin Stearns, Rex Guffey, Jimmy Guffey, Quiency Guffey and Chris Beaty. 

      The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
