Jackie Dean (Manis) Slaven

     Jackie Dean (Manis) Slaven, age 65 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her residence.

     She was born July 26, 1959 in Jamestown, TN to Carlos Dreadman Manis and Bessie Olive (Hinds) Manis. 

     Jackie was survived by (3) daughters: Carla Koger and husband: Philip; Shayna Rose Slaven and Cheyenne Rena Slaven; (1) son: Shane Slaven; (7) grandchildren and (4) great-grandchildren; mother: Bessie Matthews; (2) brothers: Perry Manis and Jerry Manis. Also survived by other family members and friends. 

     She was preceded in death by her father: Carlos Manis; (3) brothers: Terry Manis, Walter Manis and Jimmy Manis.

     Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross officiating. The burial was in Mt. Era Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers were Shane Slaven, Isaak Koger, Isaiah Koger, Logan South, David Tompkins and Donnie Painter. 

     The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
