Mrs. Dortha Elese (Winningham) Richardson, age 85, of Pickett Care and Rehab, passed away on Thursday September 22, 2020 at Pickett County Care & Rehab. She was born April 12, 1935 to the late Ward & Mary Lou (Mitchell) Winningham. She was a factory employee, head start teacher, and spent the last several years volunteering at the community center with the “old people”. Elese was also a member of “The Eastern Star”.
Elese is survived by 2 sons: Jimmy (Linda) & Johnny (Wanda) Richardson; 1 sister: Glenna Allen; 5 brothers: Donald, Leslie, Doug, Ward, & Roger Winningham; 2 grandsons: Brad and Robert Richardson; 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by special nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ward & Mary Lou Winningham; husband: James Richardson; and 1 granddaughter: Monica Richardson.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2020 from Brown Funeral Chapel at 2:00 P.M with Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating and burial to follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
