Debra Sue (Scott) Cummings

     Debra Sue (Scott) Garrett Cummings, age 65 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025.

     She was born September 28, 1959 in Byrdstown, TN to Gilbert Scott and Norma Estelle (Gunter) Scott. She was a member of Etter Baptist Church, a former secretary for the Pickett County Executive and human resources for OshKosh.

     Debra was survived by (2) step-daughters: Tonya Garrett, Tammy Pirie; (1) step-son: James Garrett and wife: Teresa; (5) step-grandchildren; (2) sisters: Carolyn Painter and husband: Donnie, Helen Benningfield; (1) brother: Kenneth Scott and wife: Patricia. Also survived by other family members and friends. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Gib and Estelle Scott; first husband: James Garrett; second husband: Bill Cummings; (1) sister: Marilyn Scott. 

     Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM from Etter Cemetery with Bro. Eric Thoman officiating. The burial was in Etter Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers were James Garrett, James Andrew Garrett, Jacob Garrett, Justin Garrett, Carey Garner, Kenneth Scott and Donnie Painter.
