Cotton Brannum

     Floyd Ernest Brannum better known as "Cotton", age 76 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at his residence.

     He was born February 11, 1948 in Byrdstown, TN to Samuel Coy Brannum and Ada Pauline (Jones) Brannum. He was a farmer, heavy equipment operator and a block layer. 

     Cotton was survived by his wife: Margaret (Griffin) Brannum, (3) daughters: Angela Wade, Tracy Huddleston and husband: Rick, Jennifer Yates and husband: James; (3) sons: Timmy Brannum and wife: Kathy, Phillip Brannum and wife: Michelle, Brian Brannum and wife: Julia; (19) grandchildren and (14) great-grandchildren; (1) brother: Michael Brannum; (7) sisters: Betty Dotson, Violet Freel, Virginia Gunter, Vickie Stockton, Lynn Choate, Cathy Choate and Teresa Malek. Also survived by other family members and friends. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Ada Brannum; (2) sisters: Jean Neal and Joy Lovell; (2) brothers: James Brannum and Ricky Brannum.

     Funeral services were held Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Rick Cross officiating. The burial was in Brannum Cemetery. 

     Serving as pallbearers were Dakota Huddleston, Casey Huddleston, Tucker Brannum, Oakley Brannum, Josh Smith and James Yates.

     Serving as honorary pallbearers were Nathon Rigney, Jim Brannum, Ricky Marise, Kendrick Melton, Jeff Neal and Johnny Lee. 

     The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
