Carlie Ina (Dishman) Garrett

     Carlie Ina (Dishman) Garrett, age 79 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Saint Thomas Rutherford.

     She was born November 6, 1944 in Jamestown, TN to Hubert Dishman and Clara Jane (Piercy) Dishman. She was a former garment factory employee.

     Carlie was survived by (1) daughter: Penny Russell; (1) son: Steve Garrett and wife: Amy; (2) grandchildren: Lyndsey Elder and husband: Nathan, Matthew Russell; (1) great-grandchild: Sawyer Elder; (2) sisters: Alta Huddleston and husband: Amos, Glenda Hatfield; (1) brother: Clyde Dishman. Also survived by other family members and friends.      

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Hubert and Clara Dishman; (1) sister: Cordie Dishman; (2) brothers: Bertie Ray and Gilbert Dishman; (1) infant brother: Cecil Dishman.

     Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jeff Monday and Earl Claborn officiating. The burial was in Story Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers were Robert Garrett, Darrell Garrett, Trent Martin, Dana Dowdy, Bill Russell and Jamie Dishman. 

     The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
