Christopher "Brad" Yates, age 40, of Byrdstown, Tennessee, passed away on May 27, 2026.
He was born on August 19, 1985, in Crossville, TN, to Haskell Yates and Donna (Bridges) Cope. He worked at the Pickett County Highway Department and was a lifelong mechanic.
He took pride in hard work and helping others. He was known for his humor and generous heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
He was survived by his mother and stepfather, Donna and Jimmy Cope; his father, Haskell Yates; Sarah McMahon; his daughters, Kayleigh McMahon and fiancé Hayden Bond, and Ily Yates; his brothers, James Yates and wife Jennifer and Will Cope; Stepbrother Patrick Cope and wife Tabitha; and his granddaughter, Drue Bond.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Edward and Minnie "Dude" Yates, Edgar Bridges and Wanda Huddleston.
Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Chapel on June 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Patrick Cope officiating. The burial was in Goney Cemetery, Old Grimsley Rd., Jamestown, TN.
Serving as pallbearers were James Yates, Sarah McMahon, David Yates, Darrell Huddleston, Tony Beaty and Pacey Rector.
Brad will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
