Betty Joyce (Stockton) Sells Groce

     Betty Joyce (Stockton) Sells Groce, age 91 of Byrdstown, TN passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

     She was born January 21, 1933 in Albany, KY to Robert Stockton and Ruby (Bowlin) Stockton. She was a member of Maupin Methodist Church, a former garment factory employee and dietitian for Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency.

     Betty was survived by (5) children: Terry Stockton and wife: Joretta, Johnny Sells and wife: Janice; Deborah Pryor, Lisa Savage and husband: Ricky, Linda Amonette and husband: Dowel; (12) grandchildren, (27) great-grandchildren and (15) great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by special care givers: Michelle Brannum, and Deborah Pryor, other family members and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Ruby Stockton; first husband: Dalton John Henry Sells; second husband: Charles Groce; (2) sisters: Martha Sue Stockton and Ina Tallent; (1) infant sister; (3) brothers: James Franklin Stockton, Wendell Dee Stockton and Billy Irwin Stockton; (1) infant brother. 

     Funeral services were held Monday, December 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Sells and Bro. Rick Cross officiating. The burial was in Story Cemetery. 

     Serving as pallbearers were John Nathan Honeycutt, Joseph Honeycutt, Tyler Savage, Ezra Savage, Andy Robbins and Caleb Guffey. 

     The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel.
