Betty Sue (Moon) Barton, age 82, died peacefully at her home in Beaufort, South Carolina surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 22nd, 2025.
Betty was born March 28th, 1943 in Byrdstown, Tennessee to the late William Spencer Moon and Bertha (Conatser) Moon, as the youngest of her 14 siblings. She moved to Beaufort in 1973, where she was a business owner and an active presence in her community. Betty was a long time member of the Baptist Church of Beaufort.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched.
Betty was survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Barton of Beaufort, a daughter Glenda Londono (Rafael) of Beaufort, a son Greg Wilson (Julie) of Spartanburg, South Carolina; grandchildren Jessica McClam (Zack), Brianna West (Drew), Kyle Wilson, Luke Londono, Christian Londono, and Carley Wilson; great-grand children Presley, Riley, and Renley McClam; and sisters Cora (Moon) Storie and Norma (Moon) Qualls. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Spencer and Bertha Moon; sisters Vonnie Gibson, Nora Mullins, Dorothy Tompkins, Nell Beaty, Fonzie Tompkins, Bessie Garrett, Illene West, and Roxie Moon; brothers Tommy Moon, Jay Moon, and Willie Moon; youngest daughter Gena Wilson; and her mother-in-law Edna Barton.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown, Tennessee.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, September, 13, 2025 from 1:00 P.M until the service at 2:00 P.M.
