Opal Gladys (Manis) Skeen

     Opal Gladys (Manis) Skeen age 92 of Woodlawn Dr. in Byrdstown,TN passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at  NHC Healthcare in Smithville, TN. 

     She was born September 1, 1923 in Byrdstown, TN to Benton Manis and Lona (Pritchard) Manis. She was a retired cook at the Star Point Restaurant. Opal graduated from Pickett Co. High School and moved to Muncie, Indiana and lived until the death of her Husband: Donald R. Skeen in 1979 and then moved back to Pickett Co., TN. Opal loved bowling, playing bingo and making quilts 

     Opal is survived by (1) Daughter: Carol Storie and Husband George ; (2) Sons: Michael Skeen and Wife: Carol , Larry Matheny and Wife: Judy ; (1) Sister: Leva Hardcastle ; (14) Grandchildren and Numerous Great Grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her Parents: Benton and Lona Manis ; Husband: Donald R. Skeen ; (1) Son: Bobby Skeen ; (1) Sister: Elise Phillips ; (1) Grandson:  James Casey Reagan.

     Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from the Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating and burial in the Beaty Cemetery.
